I used to go through suits like crazy till I discovered polyester suits. They last vastly longer than any of the nylon ones, and they aren’t all the frumpy “workout” style. Actually, the money I saved on not buying and throwing out a $75 nylon suit every six months pretty much made the waterproof mp3 player a wash, and that makes swimming laps way more fun than a bagging-out nylon suit.

Breathing on both sides is great, because then when you swim outside, you can choose to breath on the side the sun is not. I breathe every third stroke.
