Luckily we managed to get a majority of the cards etc and were able to find a cell number to ring. She was glad to have it back too. I worked at a small bookstore once and customers were forever leaving their credit cards, checkbooks, wallets, first-born children, etc. People were always so astonished to get a call from one of us saying "Hey, we have your [life] here at the counter, you should come get it." Astonished and grateful. People can be awesome.
