Jessamyn, I did the Alaska Library Conference last year at Kodiak Island. We got snowed in on this little island and had a great time. I found the AK librarians to be a very interesting blend of people from all over. Their enthusiasm for libraries seems to be second to none. What were your impressions?

Totally unrelated.

"You don't shoot deer in the winter because they taste like hemlock" My student learns typing and teaches me wildlife lessons

Did you get any feedback on this? I consulted with my hunter friends and this statement is false. Gnawing curiosity.

w/r/t "Where aren't we?" Hm, I can't sit still for two hours and focus on anything either, but that definitely predates the digital revolution.

That's very cool. I'm in L.A. and we have very few Jewish kids at our school. As I'm usually the one mentioning putting the menorah up, people assume I'm Jewish. That's fine!
Our kids are in such general straits, most families need help. We seem to get hit up for donations for funerals when a family member dies- nobody seems to save for those, do they?

I've changed enough flat tires so that I took "power jack" to mean something entirely different from I now think you meant (like a power outlet).

Good luck in the search.
