Education & Instruction
I train people to use technlogy to further their own business and personal interests. I teach regular classes at
Seattle Public Library in Web Basics and Small Business Research. In 1996,
I founded the Wired
for Learning program
at SPL that teaches basic computer skills to people learning to speak
English and adults working towards their GED.
I worked with the City of Seattle's Family Centers doing
informal training sessions with patrons and staff in all aspects of computer
usage and skills from 1995 to 1998. I have developed curricula,
instructional materials and
web pages for use in
educational settings. I work with
population groups ranging from ESL students to elderly women to five year
olds.
I have written educational materials for adults and children since 1995. I
have been a major contributor to the American Political Landscape series
of encyclopediae and have recently completed a teacher's edition of a
language arts project for fifth graders for Glencoe. My current project
involves writing study guides for elementary school students on a number
of literature titles.
