Why Spaz?

This is an age old question that dates back to my high school days. Back then, I was a kid with too much energy who spoke my mind too often. People called me spaz and it stuck as much as any nickname I've ever been able to have, which is to say not much.

Now I'm an adult with too much energy who speaks my mind just about enough. I worked for the City of Seattle as an intern on their technology project while I finished library school. When I graduated, they were despondent that they could never find another student to replace me, so they offered me the alternative of getting my business license and continuing on as a contractor. When I got my license application, I realized that I had an opportunity to name my fledgling business whatever I wanted and still work for the City. My choice was obvious.

The name works for me. It's short, it's descriptive and people who dislike the nontraditional name probably won't be happy with my nontraditional approach. It looks good on my nametag when I go to conferences and makes my Mom laugh. What more could you want in a name?
